At its annual kickoff event on April 12, Pride Houston announced its 2012 parade grand marshals.
Grand marshal nominees in three categories were voted on over several weeks.
The winners were:
- Female Grand Marshal: Jenifer Rene Pool, a Houston business owner, former City Council Candidate and radio host
- Male Grand Marshal: Nicholas Brines, a Houston business owner and former president of Pride Houston
- Ally Grand Marshal: City Council Member Ellen Cohen, a former State Representative and longtime advocate for the LGBT community
Pride also announced that Madison Hildebrand, star of Bravo's Million Dollar Listing, will be this year's Celebrity Grand Marshal.
Pride Week starts June 16 with a full seven days of events culminating in the Pride Festival and Parade on June 23. For more on Pride Houston and the festivities click here.
