Where to Shop for Pride

The only thing more fun than attending Pride Houston is prepping for Pride Houston. For many revelers, that means gearing up with clothes, costumes, accessories, and decorations. Nearly anything goes from LGBTQ-themed tees and leather gear to rainbow flags and all-out drag.

Though there’s tons of options for online shopping, there’s still no question that shopping in person is always more fun, and that goes double in Houston, where the Pride shopping is strong. From naughty to nice, cheeky to political and simple to way-over-the-top, these local shops have you covered. Here’s a sampling of what H-Town has to offer!

H&M

H&M Baybrook Mall is home to a massive H&M store that stocks affordable masculine and feminine looks. They stock plenty of rainbow gear come June, but don’t forget the summertime-parade-friendly essentials like shorts, tees, and tanks that you can gussy up with another rainbow accessory. TARGET It may be the giant chain store where you buy your bottled water and protein bars. But when Pride season rolls around, they take it up a notch when it comes to all things rainbow and celebratory. This year, there’s an entire section for Pride, and though most of the items are found in the men’s section, the looks are mostly gender neutral.

SPENCER’S AT THE GALLERIA

Known for its off-the-wall (and often off-color) items, this chain store in the Galleria has a naughty bit of this and a naughtier bit of that. Think gags galore. But not that kind of gag… Houston has other shops for that! THRIFT STORES The section of Westheimer that runs through the heart of Montrose may as well be called Thrift Row because of how many awesome second-hand stores line the street. Even Goodwill stocks some rainbow gear, but don’t miss a chance to swing by Buffalo Exchange and Pavement Clothing.

SPACE MONTROSE

Houston-centric boutique shopping at its finest! Space Montrose stocks mostly locally-sourced goods like shirts, accessories, stickers, jewelry, and even candles. Stop by for a Drag Race-themed candle, a rainbow necklace, or complete your parade outfit by snagging some clothing by local makers. THE EAGLE Leather gear is certainly a Pride staple and The Eagle is certainly a hot spot for getting it. The shop within a bar is a popular spot for all things leather. The best part? Make a day or night of it and get your shopping done and partying on all in one stop.

HOLLYWOOD SUPER CENTER

Hollywood Super Center prides itself on having anything and everything you could need for, you guessed it, Pride. You can always count on them for tons of designer underwear and swimwear. But come Pride, they gear up so that you can too.
