Originally a men’s clothing store, owner Alli Jarrett transformed the nearly century-old building into a brunch paradise with downstairs bar, and upstairs dining room and terrace providing a wonderful view of the neighborhood.
The décor is casual and industrial with wood-paneled walls and metallic seating. The concrete floor and exposed ceiling make the space feel open and more modern. Vibrant art on the walls adds punches of color while the terrace provides an ideal setting for enjoying the sunset and a glass of wine.
Harold’s brunch menu serves up comforting Southern Creole dishes, all prepared with local, fresh ingredients. Begin your meal with authentic N’awlins Shrimp and Okra Gumbo or the Big Nasty Biscuit, served with fried chicken and cheddar cheese sausage gravy, that is anything but nasty. Then when it comes to entrees, Harold’s has a section on the menu appropriately named, “Perfect Before a Nap,” due to the hearty portions comforting options. Local favorites include the Gulf Coast Po’Boy featuring fresh, fried local gulf seafood and a spicy remoulade sauce, and the Creole Benedict, a New Orleans spin on a classic Eggs Benedict with beef debris and poached eggs slathered with a Creole hollandaise. And of course, no meal would be complete without New Orleans-style beignets.
Wash down your brunch with a Bloody Mary catered to your taste buds. Harold’s has their own Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar with garnishes like okra, bacon, herbs, olives, onions, peppers and more. Make as wild or as mild as you desire and begin your weekend on a high note.
