Newport Beach’s Bosscat Kitchen + Libations is one of the latest establishments to join the Houston gastropub scene. Located at 4310 Westheimer, Bosscat boasts an extensive whiskey menu and craft cocktails, Southern-inspired food and a cozy ambiance perfect for an evening out on their patio watching the beautiful Houston sunset.

The 6,900-square-foot restaurant can house up to 220 guests with another 40 guests on the two patios that feature roll-up garage doors that will be open on nice weather days. The décor is perfectly industrial chic with exposed brick, a heavy presence of wood and metal finishes. In the middle, is their “360-degree bar” which is perfect for those just looking to peruse the extensive craft cocktail menu. There is even a glass-enclosed Whiskey Room for VIPs to reserve private whiskey lockers to keep their favorite bottles in.

From cocktails of the month to a robust whiskey selection, Bosscat is heaven to any whiskey aficionado. During brunch time, diners can sip on mimosas, bellinis, bloody marys and the cheeky “Breakfast in Bed” shot which is a shot of maple bourbon, OJ and a piece of bacon.

Bosscat also hosts Treat Yo’ Self-Saturdays and Sunday Funday brunch food menus that are ideal for soaking up all that liquor. Diners can select brunch items such as the sticky bun breakfast burger with Canadian bacon, a duck fat fried egg, and gruyere cheese, or totchos, a play on nachos but with tater tots instead of chips but with the same toppings like chorizo, nacho cheese and a fried egg. If you want to try something a little more whimsical, the Fruity Pebbles French toast puts a twist on two childhood favorites, or the aptly named dish, The King, which has blue suede pancakes stacked with banana cream pudding, maple peanut butter and bacon crumbles.

Bosscat Kitchen + Libations is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., on Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m,. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
