Part retail shop, part wine bar, West U’s Vinology brings oenophiles a prime dining destination for snacking, sampling and shopping, all under one roof. Created by chef/owner Patrick McCray and sommelier Thomas Moësse, of Montrose’s Divino restaurant, the concept offers more than 300 labels, along with a robust wine by-the-glass line-up.
Set just a stone’s throw from Rice Village, Vinology hosts regular tasting events with winemakers, bimonthly wine flights, pop-up shops from visiting vineyards and educational seminars. Expect a strong showing of European wines from Italy and France with an emphasis on standouts from the Loire Valley region—a historic centerpiece in the wine world that produces a wide range of wines from dessert and sparkling to reds and whites.
