The Health Museum
In the heart of the Houston museum district and a Smithsonian Institution affiliate, The Health Museum fosters wonder and curiosity about health, medical science and the human body. The Museum hosts interactive and multi-sensory traveling exhibits and offers unique, hands-on programming, Discovery camps, special events, corporate rentals and permanent exhibitions.
Rooted in psychology, MindWorks brings mental processes like decision-making, memory and emotions to life through colorful, playful and fun hands-on exhibits. Explore why you think, feel, and react the way you do at MindWorks, and uncover the remarkable power of your mind.
The Amazing Body Gallery is a larger-than-life walking tour through the human body with a colossal colon, a 22-foot-long backbone with ribs, a Texas-sized walkthrough brain and a 12-foot beating heart.
The DeBakey Cell Lab is one of the only hands-on cellular labs open to the public. It is a bilingual, lab experience with stations such as typing blood and studying skin cells.
Dissection Demonstrations are taught by Museum science educators who walk guests through an organ dissection followed by a Q&A session and a chance to touch the organ.
