Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon
Gay cowboys began two-steppin’ on Hempstead Highway with the opening of Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon.
Inside the space once home to the famous Esquire Ballroom, Neon Boots retains a huge dance floor, large stage and multiple bars. That stage where Patsy Cline and Willie Nelson performed in their heyday now features regular performances by local musical acts and a lot more. It’s a fitting scene for the 11,000-square-foot bar, which the owners claim is the largest LGBT country concept in Texas and the largest gay bar in Houston.
A side bar/lounge area now called the Esquire Room is separated from the main space by glass-paneled doors, offering an opportunity to engage in quieter conversation, private parties, Karaoke and much more. Back in the main bar, a series of tables and chairs in the Bull Pen and surrounding the huge dance floor is available to relax after dancing and socialize with your friends and even have your party or other celebrations.
The décor here is distinctively Texas, with a blue and red color scheme and a huge Texas flag that dominates the dance floor. Near the entrance, a large outline of the state of Texas hangs on the ceiling. The custom built multi-level patio in the back of Neon Boots is a fantastic place to enjoy the outdoors and also has an outdoor bar to accommodate guests year round. They even have a second side patio near the main bar with more tables and seating to hang out. Neon Boots is a great place for birthday parties, special events and occasions.
Neon Boots is closed every Monday and Wednesday.
