Momentum Indoor Climbing Silver Street
Momentum Indoor Climbing, a leader in innovative indoor climbing, opened its Silver Street location in the Washington Avenue Arts District. Momentum Silver Street is a 43,000 sq. ft. full-service bouldering gym and training facility, considered one of the largest bouldering gyms in the world. The facility has eight climbing zones that include top-out boulders, a 108 ft. long world-cup-inspired sector and a specific training area. Momentum also offers members an enclosed cardio room, yoga studio, dedicated children’s climbing area and a social lounge/workspace.
Momentum Silver Street’s lobby will feature and rotate artwork from several galleries around the Washington Avenue Arts District including Winter Street Studios, Spring Street Studios, The Silos at Sawyer Yards and Serrano Art Gallery. Falon Mahalic created a three-dimensional mural of the Buffalo Bayou that incorporates a variety of metals creating a rippling water effect. Mahalic’s piece is a must see and a permanent installation in the gym’s yoga room.
Further, REI Co-op Climb store is also located inside Momentum Silver Street, making it only the second REI store of its kind. The store will assist in outfitting members and guests by providing an assortment of gear and programs to help people transition to outdoor climbing. Visitors to the REI Co-op Climb store should note that it could have different opening hours Momentum.
