Mi Luna
This vibrant and bustling Montrose eatery is known for tapas, potent sangria and a sexy, young clientele. An old Houston favorite, this spot re-opened in a new location in 2024. For the full effect, mix and match plates of varied flavors from the hot and cold tapas selections. Try Serrano ham with Manchego and fresh fruit, flavorful empanadas or large sea scallops grilled with a tomato sherry wine sauce. The Spanish tortilla is like a dense, oniony potato omelet while paella Mi Luna is loaded with seafood, chorizo and chicken--enough for the whole table to taste. Supplement gaps between orders with warm bread and garlicky olive oil dipping sauce. The wine list is surprisingly varied and affordable, and always a good accompaniment for a tapas meal. For a twist on traditional sangria, try Mi Luna's signature sangritas (margarita mixed with sangria).
