Tucked amidst Midtown’s hipster party scene stands one of Houston’s most beloved nightlife institutions. Situated just off of Main Street, Leon’s Lounge opened in the early 1950s and has been providing locals with a place to unwind ever since. Though the bar has changed ownership through the years, Duane Bradley, who owns Houston’s popular Davenport Lounge, stepped up in fall 2015, ready to lead the spot going into the future.
Inside the dimly-lit lounge, stained glass windows and ornate chandeliers cast an eerie glow over the long wooden bar. There are two rooms in the back, one of which features a piano lounge space, and another with a pool and foosball table. There’s also a great jukebox loaded with sixties, seventies and eighties music. Expect plenty of locally-sourced craft brew on the menu. Stop in for well-priced drinks and signature cocktails.
Leon’s also offers daily happy hour specials and live music, on occasion, from local musicians.
