The Breakfast Klub’s Marcus Davis brings his take on African-inspired cuisine to downtown with the opening of Kulture, located at Avenida Houston. African and classic jazz tunes provide soothing background music to the casually-elevated atmosphere, complete with colorful tribal and jazz artworks.
Davis dubs his restaurant an urban comfort kitchen exploring food and spirits rooted in the African diaspora. Spanning across Caribbean and even Southern delicacies, their chef-inspired rotating menu of small and large plates includes creative dishes like dashi braised cabbage, grilled cauliflower steak, creole mussels, grilled bone-in pork chop and butternut squash ravioli, among others, along with a variety of red and white wines from Western Cape (South Africa), draft and bottled beers, and cocktails.
Kulture is open Wednesday-Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sundays, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. brunch only. It is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays.
Happy Hour: Wednesday-Friday 3-6 p.m.; Saturday: 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
