Khun Kay Thai Cafe

Khun Kay Thai Cafe, formerly the Golden Room Restaurant, has been serving up spicy Thai Cuisine in Houston for over 25 years. This charming, gilded Thai cottage offers great food without a lot of fuss.

Start with the cold chicken-and-vegetable spring rolls or the fried pork-and-egg-noodle spring rolls served with sweet-and-sour sauce. Entrees are served with jasmine rice portions shaped like the state of Texas. Check out ka prao beef, stir fried beef with onions, jalapenos and basil.

Chef's nightly specials, like steamed duck or Thai shrimp salad with spring rolls, are also reliably good.
