Hearsay Gastro Lounge
Situated in downtown’s historic W.L. Foley Building, Hearsay Gastro Lounge opened in October 2009, bringing a fresh focus to a site that once served as a Confederate armory during the Civil War. The renovated spot features a massive ceiling—three-stories-high—original brick walls and crystal chandeliers.
Owned by Lucky Chopra of Landmark Houston Hospitality Group, Hearsay serves upscale pub grub in grown-up style. Think: Warm-baked Goat Cheese Salad and Mahi-Mahi Tacos with fresh pico de gallo, spicy habanera sauce and southwestern mango slaw.
Hearsay also boasts a hearty beverage menu with a solid whiskey, wine and bubbly selection, as well as St. Arnold’s and Ziegenbock beer on draft. Try one of the lounge’s signature cocktails like The Twelve Spot—a nod to the bar’s previous tenant—which blends bourbon, fresh-squeeze orange juice and a dash of Rose’s Lime.
Stop by the more than 100-year-old building, Sunday through Thursday, when the kitchen is open until midnight or on Friday and Saturday nights until 2 a.m.

We can fit up to 40 peoples upstairs for a seated dinner. Up to 75 for a cocktail reception. We do buyouts for up to 85 people for a seated dinner and up to 200 for a cocktail reception coming and going. Some of this involves the removal of our tables and chairs. We can also have other tables and chairs brought in if you prefer. We issue food and beverage minimums based on the date, duration, and size of events.
