Harlem Road Texas BBQ
On the outskirts of town – just inside Highway 99 in southwest Houston – you'll find a small, rustic building on the side of Harlem Road. Here hungry patrons can be found lined up for some of the city's biggest BBQ flavor at Harlem Road Texas BBQ.
On the menu find handmade sausage, slow-smoked brisket and pork, and other locally-sourced ingredients cooked to perfection in their vintage, oak wine staves. Top it off with in-house made bacon and butter to complement every dish. Sides are kept simple and classic, with potato salad, coleslaw and BBQ beans. Still have an appetite? Dig in to chocolate bread pudding, pecan pie or butterscotch chocolate chip cookies.
Why is the BBQ so unique? Look no further than head chef, Ara Malekian. Trained in Switzerland, Chef Ara spent his childhood in the kitchen with his grandmother. After moving to the US in the late 80s, he began his culinary career and was eventually recruited by celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck. After spending years on the road in various restaurants, he developed an affinity and love for Texas BBQ and has developed his own unique brand found exclusively at Harlem Road Texas BBQ.
Harlem Road Texas BBQ is open Wednesday to Friday 3 p.m. until sold out, and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. until sold out. Harlem Road is closed Monday and Tuesday.
