The Houston outpost of Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is located on Washington Avenue in an plain-looking building that inside turns into a welcoming, down-home place where diners can enjoy Gus’s crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside spicy fried chicken.

Aside from their famous chicken, Gus’s menu includes a variety of sides and desserts. Try the fried okra, sweet potato pie, mac n cheese, and baked beans. And make sure to save room for dessert. Gus offers a variety of tasty pies, including pecan, sweet potato and old-fashioned coconut.

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
