Grotto Downtown

Set on the ground floor of the George R. Brown Convention Center, in the heart of the bustling Avenida Houston district, guests find a warm and inviting upscale trattoria. Grotto Ristorante serves authentic Southern Italian cuisine, specializing in traditional dishes from the Bay of Naples.

Inside, the lively restaurant unfolds in a contemporary, industrial-style space with clean lines and modern décor. Chandeliers filled with Edison bulbs cast a warm glow over metal bistro chairs and industrial shelving, as well as an exposed-brick wall and wood-topped tables. On the menu, Downtown’s Grotto expands its offerings beyond classic fish, chicken, veal and beef dishes, adding nearly 20 small plates, as well as Italian-inspired entrees, Neopolitan pizzas and the largest Grappa line-up in Downtown.

Grotto Downtown is open from Monday through Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
