A culinary journey awaits you at FLORA, a Mexican Kitchen that occupies the former Dunlavy space on Allen Parkway. The concept comes from The Big Vibe Group, which also operates Gratify Neighborhood Bistro, Coppa Osteria, and Graffiti Raw.
While breathtaking Buffalo Bayou Park views and FLORA's 40+ chandeliers are enough to make anyone fall in love with this glass treehouse, this dining destination also offers a top-notch culinary experience that explores the flavors and energy of the small towns of Mexico with a Texas touch.
FLORA’s contemporary approach reimagines what Mexican food can be – offering familiar flavors and iconic dishes that are newly interpreted. The menu features delicious small bites like crispy chicken taquitos, nachos, and charred octopus, a variety of soups and salads, raw bar, tacos, and classic meats like FLORA’s parillada and carnitas. For entrée, try their Pork Shank with mole rojo, black sesame seeds, black bean tamal, and refried beans, or Beef Short Rib with mole negro, toasted sesame seeds, and black bean tamal. For dessert, FLORA’s chocolate tart and Cajeta Pot de Crème are among the favorites.
The stunning brass and marble bar, teeming with tequila and mezcal, sets the tone for a lively social scene with craft cocktails aplenty. The unparalleled outdoor terrace is the quintessential Houston outdoor dining experience.
Reservations are highly recommended, especially for weekend dining. The bar is full-service, and seating is first-come, first-serve.
