Catherine Duwez, the former chef/proprietor of Café Montrose and Broken Spoke Cafe, has reappeared on Houston’s culinary scene with Café Brussels.
Duwez’s latest concept, set inside Dharma Café’s former space, sets the stage for her buzzed-about French/Belgian fare, a solid selection of Belgian beers and live jazz music—the latter of which is a holdover from Dharma’s days. Though casual and inviting, Café Brussels offers a more buttoned-up atmosphere compared to Duwez’s previous locations. Go for a pot of the moules-frites or classic croquet monsieur, but save room for dessert—the crepe flambéed with Grand Marnier is hard to beat.
Café Brussels is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Saturday, and brunch on Sunday
