BB's Tex-Orleans

In November 2007, Brooks Bassler founded BB’s (originally known as BB's Cafe) with the 1,100-square-foot restaurant at Montrose and Westheimer in Houston. It was the perfect starter! Bassler opened BB’s with the intention of creating a unique brand. BB’s would feature authentic New Orleans-style po’boys and Tex-Orleans cooking with a distinct menu, offered how and when customers wanted it: for dine-in, catering, and take-out, and available for late-night dining as well as during traditional hours.

BB’s dine-in menu was inspired by Bassler’s grandmother (Maw Maw), family recipes, and extensive research from inside the best po’boy shops throughout the New Orleans area. Serving traditional Southern Louisiana-style cooking fused with a Texas twist, BB’s created its very own homemade food concept called “Tex-Orleans cooking”.

Over the course of 15 years since 2007, BB’s Tex-Orleans has grown from one nine-table restaurant in Montrose to 12 locations in Houston (as of January 2023).

In January 2023, the original BB's moved to 515 Westheimer Rd. in Montrose, to a larger location with more parking, a larger patio, and a full bar. They even revamped the menu to offer, besides their classics, some new items, including Morgan City Pasta, which is a Crawfish Fettuccine Alfredo served with a Salad and French Bread! They added some Crab Legs to their Boil Menu, and even their Louisiana Style Boil too for those who aren’t the Tex-Orleans style fans!

The restaurant is open: Sunday-Wednesday 11 am - 3 am | Thursday-Saturday 11 am - 4 am

BB's Tex-Orleans only closes three times a year:

Christmas Eve: CLOSED
Christmas Day: CLOSED
