Houston Heights

Houston’s Heights neighborhood continues to diversify its dining options with the July 2012 opening of Salé-Sucré. The French bistro, created by husband-wife team Béline and Chef Philippe Harel, is located next door to Tacos A Go Go, inside the former White Oak Bakery space.

Inside, funky artwork hangs throughout the inviting space, complementing the colorful tabletop designs and violet banquettes. On the menu, Chef Philippe touts an array of crepe dishes, as well as entrees like New Zealand lamb shank and tornedos rossini (beef and foie gas with fig chutney). There’s also a delicious spinach salad starter, served with honey dressing and pan-fried Camembert cheese—a signature option, no doubt, since Philippe happens to be the great, great grandson of the Camembert cheese founder.

Stop by Salé Sucré for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
