Right in the heart of Midtown lives Oakmont Houston, a 40,000 square-foot, three-story entertainment space and bar complete with outdoor games and a free 9-hole miniature golf course. The building was converted from a law office into a multi-level bar, creating a blended look of upscale elegance and casual fun. Each floor is uniquely themed. Guests enter into an open seating, communal setup with picnic tables and an expansive patio. The second and third floors have a lounge-like look and feel, including a circular swing set with a full bar of 25 specialty shots. On the top level, there’s a perfect view of the Houston skyline.
Adding to its ambiance is an expansive, Fusion-style bar menu. From the top 35 national craft beers, champagnes and cocktails, Oakmont’s full bar provides several specialty drink options. There’s also plenty to munch on with each cocktail. For a lighter fare, Oakmont offers charcuterie boards, flatbreads, salads and several bite-sized goodies. And if fun-goers want more, there are several, more filling options like the piri chicken and braised lamb tacos, jambalaya, pastas and burgers galore including kobe beef, veal and rabbit. The wonderfully-fused menu is from chef Vahid Navissi of Café Benedicte.
This fun playground for grown-ups is open Monday to Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 12 Midnight, Thursday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to Midnight.
