Upper Kirby/Greenway Plaza/River Oaks

Johnny Carrabba's newest Upper Kirby-set culinary venture, Grace’s, opened in February 2014, paying tribute to Carrabba’s late grandmother, Grace Mandola. The striking brick bungalow space is warmly inviting, setting the scene for eclectic family fare and plenty of southern charm.

Inside, diners will find a spacious restaurant, styled to feel like a house. Wooden bookcases with family pictures stand near a dual-room fireplace and brass chandeliers, while a well-worn butcher-block table doubles as a buffet in Grace’s entry.

Don’t expect the Carrabba family’s signature pastas at Grace’s, the menu spotlights an international mix of entrees like the carne asada, yellowtail carpaccio and Louisiana-style gumbo. It’s a fitting line-up for the Sicilian matriarch, born to immigrant parents in Louisiana.

Grace’s is open for lunch and dinner, daily.
