Bayou City Art Festival, produced by Art Colony Association, Inc., returns to downtown Houston on Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15, 2023, for another year to provide unique art experiences in Houston, and promote the impact that the art has in the Houston community.

At this weekend event you can see and buy original works by more than 220 national and international artists representing 19 artistic disciplines, including paintings, prints, jewelry and sculptures, among others.

For this year Art Colony Association, Inc. is pleased to announce Michelle McDowell Smith as the featured artist for the Bayou City Art Festival -Downtown 2023. McDowell Smith is a painter and multimedia collage artist based in Roanoke, Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design with a concentration in illustration.

Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to meet participating artists and enjoy art installations and live music on two entertainment stages. Food trucks and drink stations will also be on site throughout the festival. At the Active Imagination Zone, the festival's nonprofit partners will host hands-on art activities for all ages.

For an exclusive experience, look for VIP tickets (limited availability), which include an oasis with light snacks and complimentary beer, wine and other beverages. The relaxing setting under a canopy of trees will feature roving musicians, artistic décor, a phone charging station and more. VIPs will receive all-day access to the VIP area, along with VIP parking.
